I do that too, except them damn rocks hurt when they hit your knuckles.
Im sure Marlyn is reading this, he for some reason likes to spy on me, along with all his followers. They must lead boring lives.

Default Canyon

Hey Dave, were those photos taken at Canyon? It sure looks a lot more high banked than the last time I was there.

Question Free Ride

I think I would have better luck roping a tornado, but I wouldn't pass up a free ride!

I am still patching things up on the car after the crash. I still don't have the LA headers fixed. I need the head pipes and flange from Schoenfeld, but I haven't had the time or $$ to accomplish that feat. I am going to be welding up the loaner block. I picked up some high dollar cast iron welding wire for a MIG. Hopefully that works well. I am then scheduled to make a dyno session with the car on a chassis dyno.

I haven't spoken to Marlyn since our little get together on the track. I am certainly not mad at him, but I don't have any idea what his thoughts are of me.

It is funny though, I am pretty certain that I dislocated my shoulder in the crash. It has hurt plenty since then. It is finally getting back to normal. I separated it in high school playing football. So it has had some previous damage.

Default First year in an A-body

Attached is the photo of my ride, '74 dodge dart, 340/904...My first partial year in an A body...
Was a learning experience...Raced at 8 different tracks in 5 states! Asphalt and dirt...Best feature finish of 3rd on the dirt, 3rd on the asphalt and 3rd in an Enduro! Next year we will try to better those finishes!

A couple things learened that I can pass on:

1.) A 7 1/4" rear end works fine...(and is light!)...Ran a one axle with a welded spider 3.90 and and another with an open 3.55 with no issues. Make sure you have good axle seals and run synthetic gear oil and it will work just fine...Motive gear ring and pinion.
2.) I broke a rf brake rotor hub after just racing on a high-banked asphalt track...Was a good wagner brand rotor...Rotor was still bolted to wheel and hub still on the spindle...Broke at the transition of hub to rotor..Tore all rf suspension up when wheel exited vehicle going into turn 1 at a dirt track...

Hey, everyone says it is dumb and they will disown me, but I think it will be cool and I want to do it. I bought an 04 loose gruff last week and it needs a body, so, I slid the ol challenger body on it I have, and I think it looks cool as heck. Like I said, everyone else looks at me like Im crazy. I have vision.

I like! Will it fit the rules? may have to change the sail panel, deck area up but it would be a good templet. We tried to make ours look like a FWD Daytona one time. Keeps the MOPAR in more than just the engine!

Gripe Shaker Hood

You need to find a Shaker Hood scoop and put in on the air cleaner to simulate the Shaker hood!

On another note, I can't believe that you would park your new race car out in the snow bank! I gotta get you schooled on that one. LOL's

The good thing is that car was made by Jimmy Owens himself. I hear he sold the company after 2006 and he doesn't build them anymore.

P.S. those open challenger bodies really suck for aero. When I pulled Goob's car down to SF to get the first chassis cert, it was like pulling a parachute. If you could turn that into down force it would be killer.

My car was built by Jimmy too, and he still builds them, told me he builds two or so a year, and hes been pretty busy. Thats when I went used car shopping.
I just cant get anyone around here to see how cool it will be, they are all jumping off the cageman bandwagon. Just like any old relic, you have to have vision, they dont start out as show cars. The chally body was Tim compsons dads car, and they had the body on an old bob harris chassis. I picked it up out of a tree row about 150 miles away from here, I have been itchin to see it race again.I think I just might do it.
And my shop is full of useless non racing stuff now, if I had the race car in there, nothing would ever get done.
And aero, it will have the front end that is on it, basically a mod front with chally back. I was surprised how well it fits, the picture is bad, it was cold and covered in snow and I put it on by my self, but my tape measure eyes tell me it will fit no problem.

Cage, That looks cool as Sh@#, do it. I tried to do a body that looked like a 66,67 charger a couple of years ago with the same body lines but it just didn't look right.there was a guy afew years back that had the rear quarters of a 57 chevy back in wisconsin that looked pretty bad ass to.

That car looks cool!! As boxy as it is, I bet I could build something like that out of aluminum and put it on my SS.
