Default engine timing

i always ran BB dodges on dirt track - this is my first SB 360 - what total timing advance do most people start with ? I know there are lots of variables - need a starting point thanks!

I am on the conservative side and I use 32-36 TOTAL

I hit moparallen's right in the middle. 34 total gives us the best results with our 9:1, 2 barrell 360.

I always ran 34 total and almost all the time had a "leanburn" dist that had no advance and just had it set at 34*. if you have a hard time getting it started just set your switches up so you can crank it over without the ignition switch on. just het it turning over then flip the switch on.
