Default Disarming Alarm

Anybody know how to disconnect the alarm on a 97 dakota? this stupid thing goes off everytime i unluck the door. what a pain in the ass. i have to go over to the pass door and disarm it because it won't do it from the drivers door. is there a wire to clip or fuse to pull or something? any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

My 98 had (I guess) an aftermarket system, but it's always been turned off via a switch near the passenger side floorboard. It had a flashing LED on the top of the dash which was a conversation piece.
