Default 2.5 Liter Pan Removal

After struggling for several hours trying to remove the pan to replace it I thought someone may have some tips I can try. I have loosened the motor mount bolts, the cross member bolts, the steering rack, and the transmission mount bolts. I can get the pan almost off but it hangs up on the lip of the bellhousing. The Haynes manual said to lift the left side of engine about 2 inches and place a block of wood to under it to keep it up. I am assuming that they are referring to the left side when you are in the driver's seat but I don't see good a place for the jack. I do have motor puller I can use if I can find a good lifting point. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Don.
