Has anybody tried the Viper torque converter from KRC performance? What about any other brands? I need some good advice for a solid converter for the 1/4 mile that is still streetable.

Hillbilly, I don't know the part number, but Mopar has a high performance converter designed for street use. B&M makes some killer track converters but the slowest they show is a 2200RPM stall. That would essencially mean you could'nt put you truck into OD below about 60-65MPH(depending rear axle ratio). None of the good converters are cheap...$600 and way up. But don't waste you money on the chepo's....everyone (including my uncle...retired mechanic after45 years) says the cheap ones last about 10K miles and/or a year, and trash the works in your tranny.(clutches, shafts, etc.) BOY I saved $200 on a cheap converter and now I need $3grand worth of trans. work! Good luck!
