Question viper transmission swap

I was reading an old issue of truckin' and i came across a small article about a dakota. The thing that caught my eye was they said the 4.7 qc had a T56 viper transmission in it. I was wonder ing if anyone else has heard of this being done and if so how complex and expensive this would be?

I would imagine it would be pretty difficult. I don't know if it will just bolt up to your motor or not. Plus you have to have a good amount of torque to allow your motor to run efficiently in 6th gear and don't know if you do.

if your gonna go through the hassle of the tranny, which would cool as hell, why not go for the engine also?

This to is something I have been thinking about for the past few months. I think I would have a better chance at it since I have the 5.2 and not the 4.7. I would think the 5.2 is a lot like the 8.0l motor?!?!?!? Well at least the back of the engine block.
Im not sure where the tranny would mount, if i could use the same crossmember and if the stick would come up in the same place thru the floor board. I was looking around on the MOPARPERFORMACE page, and they have Viper Tranny replacements , and the parts to mount them...
Heres a link to the mopar perf page that has the stuff for installing viper stuff in non viper applications...maybe this will get one of yall thinking a lil harder..

Swaping the engine had come to mind Lguy. If iwas going to do this I would mostly diffenately have to take it back to the days of the big block and drop in 426 hemi or even if i could squeeeeze it a 528. Talk about a tight fit. Alot of work there.
