Default May not have been a free lunch, but...

The price was close

so i finally get off my butt and change my oil. drain the pan, looks pretty bad.

go to grab the filter. wait. this filter is smooth. i buy the frams with the grip on them. slide over and look at it. its a mopar filter.

the only time a mopar anything could have found its way on my truck, without me knowing about it, was in march when i had it at a dealer in south ga to rebuild the transmission. my extended warranty covered most of the cost, i forked over a hundred bucks

i remember there being 5 quarts of fluid on the RO, but i figured it would have been transmission fluid, me using my head anyway.

has anyone else ever gotten a seemingly free oil change, or anyother service like that, without knowing about it til later??

at my old dealership if we had a lot of work on a customers car... like over 500 bucks, my service manager loved to throw in a free oil change if it was due.. to make the customer happy... it made 95% of them come bback for more work cause they "got something for free" .... go figure something little goes such a long way...

I am not sure of the mag engines but with my pre-mag the easiest way to get that bolt that goes to the tranny out is to pull the oil filter they must have figured either that the old filter wouldn't have sealed (mine didn't) or as long as they have it out might as well change the oil and throw it in for 'free' tho there is not a change on the bill I am sure you paid for it one way or another.

yeah, both of those reasons make sense to me.

as for the return customer, well, that dealer is 8 hours away, with out any 'law enforcement' issues. but they wouldnt have known that.

the tranny bolt sounds just as likely to me. i just wouldnt have minded if they had told me. knowledge is power.
