Cps
Well I'm not sure about the 4.7, but on the 5.2 it's located on the passenger side rear of the engine between the engine and tranny. It's just a small sensor which reads notches in the flexplate to let the PCM know what position the engine is at. I only looked at mine when the engine was seperated from the tranny, and it was working fine so not from a replacement viewpoint then. Not sure how hard it would be to change with the engine in the vehicle. I imagine it'd be tight, but doable.

If it's anything like the one on the 5.2 (318) it is easy to change, just 1 bolt and a plug in wire and just lift it out. I changed mine once, chasing down an ignition problem. Turned out the sensor was not the problem, it was the coil.

sensor
I think i found it located in the pass side rear of the engine, there seems to be enough room but it does not want to pull out. I removed the 1 bolt and un hooked the wire but cant get it out, any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

probably need to just wiggle it a bit, there is an oring on it that is holding it in. maybe take a couple of small screw drivers and pry back and forth on each side. they can be a pain to get out sometimes.
