Got a sure grip installed in my 04 Diesel!

It cost 1197.15$ for parts and 336$ in labor. I kept the original gears.
Sure made the truck go better in 2wd, though it can be a bit squirrely if you get on it hard with the front wheels turned. It's just nice not having to put it in 4x4 every time the surface gets a bit slippery.
I had my local dealership do the work, they remarked that they thought mine was unusual for not having a sure grip from the factory. Is that so, any of the rest of your 4x4 Ram owners have an open differential from the factory, especially on a diesel?
It was a bit pricey, then again, not so bad compared to some of the prices I've seen in magazines for 8 3/4 pumpkins...

Mine is the Limited slip. But then again, I told them that it had to have limited slip. When I was looking, there were plenty of peg legs out there.

If I had bought mine new, I would have ordered the sure grip too. BTW, they call it "Trac-Rite" on my invoice from the dealership, I'd never heard that term until now. At least it won't wear out just the right rear tire now!

Default Strange

My 4X4 diesel came with no limited slip, either. I have no idea why they would build a 4X4 with block heater for sale in Montana, without it.
Your price sounds about right, Stoga.

Glad to hear that, good work doesn't come cheap, but I hate shucking out the coins unless I absolutely have to!
