47re Trans problem
1997 Cummins w automatic 47re. Just had the transmission rebuilt with new electoronic internals and low stall converter. Everything works fine until you let off the throttle at interstate speeds then the converter wont lock back up until back off to 1500 or lower rpms. I installed a toggle switch to ground to maually lock up converter but this is getting old. I replaced throttle position sensor about 2 years before this rebuild.
Any suggestions to my problem? Thanks |

As advertised
Sounds normal to me. Without an aftermarket lockup controller, you will have this feature.
ATS has such a controller,it works well, is adjustable by the driver for lock/unlock speeds, and mine is 10 years old with no problems. It also happens to extend converter life a bunch! |
