Unhappy Heating

I have a 2001 RAM 2500 quad cab with a diesel engine.

The problem:

The hot/cold thermosat dial on dash will only allow hot air from vents even when the dial is turned all the way into the blue. In order to stop the hot air I must turn the system off.

Can anyone give me an idea how to fix this since summer is coming on fast.

The AC does not work, but has not for a while.

Thanks

TomReel

Sounds like a vacum leak somewhere or a bad blend air door in the heater box.
