I haven't modified my intake yet, but there are far better choices. aFe has one that is better and less expensive.

Keep in mind, you really will not see or feel a difference with the intake upgrade. It works in conjunction with other performance upgrades (air filter, filter tube, turbo, computer, propane injection, etc). As you start pushing the modifications, you will quickly realize that your automatic transmission is a weak link.

First, come up with a plan. Decide what you expect to do with the truck. Then decide what you expect of the engine. Once you've done that, figure out what parts what best for that environment.

Without any other mods, the intake is going to do very little (if anything) for your performance (hp, torque, or mpg).

The only mod to my engine has been the Edge Juice w/Attitude. That was only because I didn't like the turbo lag. Now, if I give her the chance, she will roast the tires. As I'm not racing, I don't need 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Towing, she will pull 6,000 pounds (my car, trailer, tools, etc) with no problems. At 10,000 pounds, you will begin to notice a load. At 20,000 the engine is beginning to do what it is known for.

So just what is it that you want your truck and engine to do?

i'm trying to get some mpg mainly, plus outrun that powerstroke that pulls up next to me at the light or on the highway, so what i'm trying to do is things that can help power and mpg at the same time, such as better air flow in and out of the engine, flashpaq programmer, etc... and make it sound better them newer ones are just too dang quiet out the exhaust for me, i like the exhaust sound being louder than stock but i love how the engine itself doesn't sound like it's falling apart like the older ones did

the afe is $329.00 compared to $289.00 for the banks..
