Default Starter problems ?

I have a 2002 ram 2500, cummings 5.9,,,sometimes it "clicks" when i turn the key to start it,,Sometimes I have to turn the key on & off several times before the starter will kick in,,,It started off doing this once a month (a yr ago), but now its more frequent (maybe once a day),,eventually it will always start,,hasnt left me stranded YET,,LOL,,any ideas ??

Or call them and ask for the contact set. Then do it yourself.

Post #3 nailed it! Pull the starter and the end solenoid cover off. You'll see plain as day one of the contacts is paper thin. If you have a starter shop local they might have what you need. I bought a bag of them for around 10 bucks online a few years ago. Give the customer the choice between a new starter..... or simply one hour labor. They usually risk it.
