i have been hearing unconfirmed rummors from the training center. 08 viper will be hemi head v-10 . varible timing. imagine. 510hp now with wedge/swirl port heads. makes you wonder what it will produce.

I have also heard a few rumors that the V10 is going away and will be replaced with a Hemi V8 in the Viper. Ill have to try and find the link to the site I read that on...

all rumors at this point. d-c is really keeping quiet about this viper redo coming up.d-c is ussally pretty good about what is coming out. not so with the viper

A lower priced V8 Viper would be a nice addition to the line, as long as they aren't worried about hurting the Viper's special "charm".
I think killing the V-10 version would be a mistake though.

I agree, but I highly doubt there will be a lower end version of that car, its too much of an icon to "detune" to a cheaper version. Arent they bringing the Chrysler version out in the next year or two, I cant remember what it is called....oh yeah, the Firepower.

There is a current magazine out that has a three way head to head test of the Viper, Corvette and Mustang GT500.

The Viper placed third, mostly because of its brute handling characteristics and lack of driver comfort.

It was an objective test. Good read.
