This post ended up on a new page so I'll put my previous post here so it makes a little more sense in case you went directly to the last page.

Hey I found my thread, I'll paste my new thread here and keep this one going. I'll try getting ahold of a moderator and get him to delete my new thread.

Hi Guys, I had a thread running here on my 70 Cuda about 1 1/2 years ago. Alot of crap happened over a 8 month period, I lost both my mom and dad and my two best friends and the car got put on hold. I did somethings, had the motor put together and rear end I also bought alot of parts. When I did try to post I had forgot my password and couldn't get the "forgot password" page to work. Just tonight I was cleaning out my desk and found a piece of paper I had writen it down on. So here I am.

I see there's alot of new members here, good to see, and I'm starting to work on the car again so I thought I'd start a new thread on the build. As I mentioned above I have the motor together and put it in last week. I'm in the proccess of puting the rear end in.

Here's a pic of the engine.

This is what's in it/specs.
511" 11.1 comp. Indy 440-1 head CNC ported, 2.25 Ferrea Comp Plus valves, 1.7 T&D rockers, Isky gold stripe springs, Straightline .731 solid roller, Comp Cams offset lifters. TTI step tube headers.
4.25 KB billet crank, 7.136" R&R ally rods, Bill Miller pistons and tapered tool steel pins.
Stock block, Ally main caps, lifter bores bushed, main stud girdle, Indy rear seal retainer, partial block fill, 0 decked.
Indy intake, 1050 holley domminator, Indy reverse flow plate, electric water pump, Romac damper, Indy timing cover, motor plate, MSD 7AL Digital ingnition and distributor with cam sync. The Mallory distributor in the pic is just there to plug the hole, it's been replaced with the MSD. You can see the diff to the left before it was assembled and the tranny and convertor in the back ground.

Here's pic of the car.

Anyways, good to be back and it there's still intrest in my build I'll post my progress.

Well I just reread all the post and I've realized two things, first, how much help the guys in this forum have been in getting me to the stage I'm at and second is how is how little I've done since my last posts.

In my defense in July of 08 I went to work in the oilfields up in northern BC, I was in camp for 55 days working 12-16 hours a day 7 days a week and came out for 10 days and then back in for 45 days and when I got out I was no longer signed in and that's when I had the problem with my password, then back in to camp until Xmas. Work kinda went for a sh_t with the economy after January, during that time I lost my two friends and I've been sittin' on my butt and feeling sorry for myself since then. Reading this has got me inspired to get my butt back in gear and start doing some work on the Cuda. Tomorow I'm going to work on the rearend, sometime this week or next my wheels should be in, a week ago last Friday I ordered some Billet Speaclties Street Lite wheels. 15x4s for the front and 15x10s for the back. I've got some Goodyear Frontrunners and BF Goodrich 315x60x15 Drag Radials, I've also got Caltracs and Mono leaf springs with Rancho 9000 shocks that I'll be putting on it. Once the wheels are here I'll mount the tires and get the rearend in place. Pics will be coming as I go along.

Well I got the rearend out and found something good. I thought I had a frame problem with the car. The front right hand corner was low, when I first bought it I tried to raise it with the torsion bar but it just made the back weird. My plan was to take it to a frame shop before welding in my roll cage. When I removed the shackles from the old springs I noticed the left one has been modified and is 1 1/4'' longer than the right. So I'll order new ones and hopefully that takes care of the problem. I can't find any signs of any major damage so it should. What would be the reason for someone doing that?

I also got my wheels in today, very happy with them.

I got the rotor and caliper bolted into the front wheel on the left and they fit, I was a little worried about that. Wilwood says you have to use 16" wheels with the 12.19'' brakes but they fit in my torque thrusts so I took a chance and got these. Two good things in a row, that concerns me......

Just a quick update. I've been remodeling a rental suite the wife and I have so progress has been slow but I've got my rearend in and the relocation boxes done. I'm in the process of making the mounts for the shackels on the springs, then I'll istall the Caltracs and their monoleaf springs along with the Rancho 9000 shocks. This is Caltracs complete system. Looks like the tires and rims are going to fit. The rearend is a fabricated 9 inch 3 inches narrower than stock, tires are 315/60/15, wheels have a 3.5 inch backspace. It does look like I'll have to roll the lip on the fenderwells but once I get the spring and shocks mounted I'll know better. I'll try to get some pics of it and post them over the next week.

Sure that'd be great, post them here for everybody to see if you like.
Just a note on the wheels in case somebody needs this, they're SFI and DOT approved. Billet Speacilties, Street lites.

I thought he came up with a cool way of doing it..there'a probably other ways. I was planning on running about 800 HP with that car so i wanted things real stout. Those are TriCity Competition springs and I had a Dana 60 all installed at the same time, not to mention the QA1 adjustable shocks. Unfortunately I had to sell the car so never even ran it.

Nice car.. I bet it spins them tires. Were you able to get dyno numbers? And of course are you going to try a strip run? Slick?
