Lost another racer.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/07/12/...ex.html?hpt=T2
"Niver, 60, was taking part in the National Hot Rod Association's Lucas Oil Northwest Nationals in Seattle, Washington, on Sunday. After the parachute came off, he was able to slow the car a bit before plowing into the net fencing at the end of the drag strip." Check your equipment carefully, folks! |

Yea. Watching the crash it was fairly mild as crashes go, but just goes to show it doesn't take much. If you think about it our bodies are really only designed to withstand 13 mile an hour impacts. (About the average running speed.) I can't imangine what his family and team are going through. Drag Racing is taking its lumps in the past couple years. Statiscally it still is the safest form of auto racing, but that margine certainly seems to be shrinking.
