R-M,
I checked-out DJM about a year ago-- they provided the lowering-parts for the Shelby Durango prototypes-- Their kits for the 4wd "D" are dear-- and require "professional" installation. I always felt the 4wd Durango ride-height is a bit high, especially if you're not going to be doing any off-road stuff. You can "safely" lower a Durango about 1-1/2" in front by twiddling the torsion-bars and trimming or replacing the bump-stop. The rear can be dropped about 2-1/2" (bringing it level) by replacing the bump-stops and using a 1" block and rear shackles. I've done neither, yet, but am considering it. The design of the Durango's suspension is "tight", that is, they've left little room in the basic-design for lowering, (especially in front) without using special replacement front "Knuckles", as they call them, and significant geometry-changes. Any lowering techniques will reduce the load-carrying ability of the Durango, as well as the tongue-weight for towing. As you can see, still procrastinating on any changes--, but thinking. Tom |

thanks for the info - I don't know anyone who has lowered a 'Go yet, so nice to hear what works.
The Shelby stance is kick a$$ If I ever traded the RAM in, I'd be firing up a 360 powered 2WD Shelby look a like for sure ! ------------------ "Good Luck on your project." Mid Michigan MOPAR Enthusiasts |
