Durango Shift Linkage Part needed...
Does anyone have or know where I can find a Manual Control arm for a 46RE tranny in a 00 2wd 5.9?
Dodge has stopped making it...the Mopar part number(52107686AB) is stamped on it. It appears that the boy who had the truck before was fond of manually shifting the automatic transmission, cuz the flat side of the mounting hole is no longer flat. |

Obviously, it isn't a wear item and normally lasts the life of the vehicle. No manufacturer can afford to stock every part for every vehicle ever made. There is a cut off point and that's that.

I understand it perfectly, 10 years usually and you can forget getting 99% of what you want on a vehicle from the dealer. Unless they just happen to have one on the shelf your gonna end up S.O.L. |

That doesnt surprise me, 3-4 years on that stuff then usually its Remans from there on out.......I prefer to build 'em anyway, 8hrs to R&R or up to 16Hrs to pull it, scatter it, clean it, reassemble it, flush the cooler, flash the controller and run her down the road.

Thanks folks. Your info was very helpful. But...looks like I'm gonna spend Memorial Day weekend hopping from one salvage yard to the next.

Have you tried one of the on-line used parts locators? Let the internet find your part.

At this point, consider taking the part to a machine shop and have the hole welded up and re-machined. Not a big deal.

I think you'll find that the major difference between late and early shift levers is that the early lever didn't have a rubber bushing where the shift rod enters the lever like the later ones do.
