<div>I have an 82 Dodge Ram 4x4. It has been sitting the majority of the time for the last 8 years. I just bought it from my father, and after getting it I rebuilt the thermoquad carburetor. Its my first carb rebuild I might ad. Well anyways it sputters almost like its missing while light accelerating and cruising. When I hammer the throttle its smooth all the way through the gears. The worst is when I am cruising and I just push the pedal a little farther to gain a little speed or keep it steady over a hill. My vacuum lines are okay, I changed plugs and plug wires, put a new fuel filter on. Nothing has worked yet. My next approach is the distributor, check timing, check and make sure the fuel pump is working properly. Then I'm not entirely sure after that. Anyone have any advice on what to check next or what to check inside the carb to make sure my settings are correct.</div>

<br />
Made my Dakota seem junky and my Tundra doesn't stand against it too well either. Luxurious.<br />
<br />
But, alas, the reason I'd replace my Tundra is in the Dodge; the steering wheel is offset to the left. Just about half the Toyota, but I'd still prefer it centered to my body. Makes steering easier.</div>

The movement is causing the belt to walk forward and is taking out all components that are attached to it (belt tensioner, fan clutch, etc.) Experts have told me that the motor needs to be replaced because the harmonic balancer cannot be removed from the crank pin. <br />
Any advice or ideas from anyone who've had similar problems??</div>

<div>Couple of questions here. In a bad deal that is too ugly to explain I wound up with a 2002 Dodge 1500 truck with 4.7L. engine . I’m a Cummins man NOW, but I understand Most pushrod engines, but not this Mercedes /Dodgified engine. The engine itself is low mileage around 45K. No idea what year the engine is, but it obviously must be CLOSE to the year of the truck because the crank sensor wheel had the right number of teeth and I know they changed that at least once.. There is a tickety tack going on in it and it sounds like it’s in the top end and not concentrated to one cylinder that I can pinpoint. . I know about these engine terrible head gasket issues and I was wondering if there are any other inherent problems with these 4.7’s that cause this problem. It was mentioned to me about rocker studs pushing out???. Are they fussy about quality of oil or viscosity? I am familiar with this sound in Chevy’s vortec that is blamed on the CFI fuel regulator(spider) under the intake, but those engine are not OHC design. . I figured I would head to place that knows to ask. Thanx . Crossy ,</div>
