Default Gas Mileage?

I have a 87 Daytona Pacifica... ive been getting ~20MPG at best. What should I be getting - that seems kinda low? on the 1 highway trip i got 25 i think it was, the 20 is driving to and from work in rush hour 1 way and 60-70mph constant the other way.
thanks

That doesn't sound out of line for commuting mileage, but I would think you should get closer to 30 on the freeway.

I had a 4-banger '96 Sebring convertible with a 3-speed automatic that produced 20-22 commuting and 28-30 on trips. I now have a '01 Sebring 2.7. 4-speed auto, V6 convertible that gets 22-24 commuting and 30-35 on the highway.

The 6 just works a lot less and the extra gear helps.

30-35 on the highway? wow... yeah i would think hte daytona would get better than 20 commuting. my trans am gets ~18-20 when its driven HARD, 28 on the highway. the YZF get 55+ no matter how hard i ride it
but id like for the daytona to get a little better than 20. especially since damn gas is 1.60 here now

Have you tried synthetic oils? Put it in your crankcase, transmission and where ever else it might be needed. I use amsoil and am very pleased with the results.

Hey, Virginian! You cannot complain about gas prices. I was in Roanoke and filled up for $1.35 premium (92). Later than day in Ohio, I refilled for $1.96 plus (89). I lived there until about a year ago, and I think the petroleum gods have been too kind to your region for too long anyway.

Just yanking your chain, no offense intended. But the above story is true.
