Help boost gauge???

My 1990 spirit es t1 does not have a boost gauge in it. So I bought one, now I'm not exactly sure where to connect it to. The directions are not very good. Can someone point me in the right direction please???????

Thanks guys,

I am pretty sure with those, if its a autometer that you have to either use a hole in the manifold or drill and tap one. Usually the guages come with a 3/8 NPT fitting and a 1/2 adapter. If there is no available hole then you can drill one where the charge air sensor(on T2's) usually goes on your 1 piece manifold assuming thats what you have.

Drill!! I can picture the metal filings falling into the combustion chamber! You can tee into ANY vacumm line on a Turbo Car. All Vaccumm lines will see vacumm and boost. Another good place is thge brake booster hose. There is alwaya a capped off nipple you can uncap and add it there.

No drilling req'd.

I tapped into the MAP vac line. I'm with you SSHEL-B, after poking around under the hood I figured out what I needed to do. Thanks for letting me know that all vacumm lines will show boost, I didn't know that. Thanks for your reply, now I know I hooked it up right.

I didn't know that either. This is ultimately why I end up doing things the hard way

In the future if I had not known you could tap any line I probably would have been wasting a lot of time removing the intake and trying to tap the line into it

I will keep this in mind for my project engine.

Question

Will all vacumm lines that show boost be the same readings?

The only ones that will not show full boost is the nipple on the compressor housing on the turbo. As long as it is from the intake it will show proper boost.
