Only you would know that based on your mechanical know-how. Got to the dealer and look at one. Never had a dealer look at me funny for crawling under a brand new car. Maybe you'll get lucky and they will have one in the showroom.

Where is the battery? My mom-in-laws Cirrus has it INSIDE the front fender. Didn't know this till they tried to give someone a jumpstart and couldn't find it.

I'd imagine it is a pain to work on as they have it stuffed under that short hood, don't know, never looked that closly at them. My mom has the brochure opened up and displayed prominatly on the computer desk, but my dad said not untill her 93 Dynasty is dead...He keeps fixing things before they go wrong so she can't complain about it and he can save $20k+.

The filter stuff on the 300M is easy to change. As far as the battery,it's located under the air cleaner box,and it's easy to change also. The 300M is a very well thought out car and performs very well.It handles and has very good performance.About the only upgrade I could see doing is some type of performance exhaust system.

Unhappy

Good luck trying to find stuff. They don't even make a performancec exhaust system for the Intrepid. Seems kind of stupid to me. Ford has the Taurus SHO and most of that stuff will work on the regular Taurii. Never could understand why Chrysler never offered a 'performance' version of their family sedan like GM & FoMoCo.

Chebby is no problem! I like the way it seems to be Ford & Chrysler against GM, and Chebby (the bottom of the GM heap) against everyone.

I have a '99 300m, and find it easy to work on. The better half left the key on all night, and the battery went dead. It was an easy jump start since there are jumper terminals located in easy-to-reach locations.
The engine compartment looks full, but much of it is little more than covers and shields.

If you want to see what might turn into the 300n, go to car-truck news and take a look at the 300m Special. That's what the 300m should have been to start with!

i just read the oct 99 consumer reports and they feel the 300m "seats are too soft and unsupportive on long drives." any one who owns a 300m care to comment?? my wife wants one of these cars real bad, keep your opinions comming

I don't agree with that at all.I've driven several 300M's and they are as comfortable as a couch.I'm 6ft and I drove one about 300 miles and it was very comfortable to me.Get a 2000,there are new colors this year that really make the 300M stand out.

Thumbs up

I love my '99 300m. Very comfortable on long drives. Have already installed BORLA performance exhaust and K&N filter.

Cool

Anyone have any idea what the next 300 "letter" will be? 300N just doesn't sound right to me. 300O..nah that'll be read three thousand instead of three hundred "O". 300P, I DONT THINK SO. 300Q..too far away from 300M. Anybody have any clue?

Yes, the 2000 colors are great. I really like the cinnamon glaze pearl coat, and the burgundy. Of course, now the 2001 models are coming..
