2002 RT Neon

The RPM's on my 2002 RT are at 3500 at 70-75mph at 80 I am pushing 4000rpms. Is this normal or can I do something about it to be more freeway friendly. My friends 2002 SXT does not rev that high...Whats going on here or is this normal for the RT..

The R/T's gearing should be for quicker accel. where as the SXT should be geared more for freeway cruising. Is one of them a standard and the other an automatic? That could also be the gearing difference. My 99 R/T tachs just about the same as yours.

It has a lower rear gear and it will turn more rpm at higher speed due to this. Only solution is to go to a higher gear which will really hurt performance.
