Question Q about infinity speaker system

I pulled the Infinity 6x9's out of my 89 Dynasty, and i want to hook them up without the preamp. Which wire is positive, and which is negative (colour?). Does anyone have any wiring diagrams?

Here are the colour codes for a 1989 Dodge Dynasty:

Constant 12V+ Red
Switched 12V+ Red/White
Ground Black
Illumination n/a
Dimmer Orange/White
Antenna Trigger Yellow
Antenna Right Front
Front Speakers 3 1/2" Dash
Left Front (+) Green
Left Front (-) Green/Yellow
Right Front (+) Purple
Right Front (-) Purple/Yellow
Rear Speakers 6" x 9" Rear Deck
Left Rear (+) Brown
Left Rear (-) Brown/Yellow
Right Rear (+) Blue/Red
Right Rear (-) Blue/White

Hope this helps,

there are 2 wires, a green one and a red one, between the preamp and the actual speaker itself, i need to know which one is positive and which is negative. I don't need to know anything about the headunit, but thanks anyways.

Well, the preamp is in the head unit. It sounds like you're talking about an external amp between the head unit and the speakers.

Regardless, there's a quick test for checking the polarity of speakers. Take a 9-volt battery, and briefly connect the battery terminals to the speaker wires and watch the speaker cone move. If the cone "pops" outward, then the positive terminal of the battery is connected to the positive terminal of the speaker. If the cone "pops" inward, then the positive lead of the battery is connected to the negative lead of the speaker. Don't leave the battery connected to the speaker, or you could damage the speaker.
