Help tuning
Well I finally got the carbs on. Can anybody give me some idea where to get jets for them? It's running WAY to rich right now

Best I remember they are smaller than holley jets so your out of luck.Get a bunch of stock carbs and pull the jets out of them. There 3 digit numbers too. You might be able to drill and tap them for holley jets if there is enough metal around them.If you have a header and a cam in it that should help lean it out a little. More compression would not hurt running to carbs either. Your way over carbed unless you have this thing really built anyways. We run a 500 cfm holley 2bbl on our race car with many mods including intake, head, cam, compression, and headers.

The engine has cam p4452767 duration is 240/248 o-lap is 24 centerline is 110 lift is 460/460
It also has a mildly ported cylinder head off a turbo car The commpression ratio is 10 to 1 if I did my math right and the header is not on it yet but will be soon Do you think I should get some offset keys for the cam or leave it alone? |

I base moving the cam only if you need it to do something that it is not doing now. Your just moving the power to a different rpm range, not increasing it.
The header should help some, but you have way more carb than what we are running on our cars. And the heads problem is on the ehaust side as far as flow goes. Not sure what head you have. There's really only two. The bathtub head and the fast burn (called a swirl port head, but it's not). The fast burn looks heart shaped and it's not as good as the bathtub which is kinda shaped like a bathtub. Cams pretty good. Compression is not bad. You can go a max of .050 off the head and the block. I think mines .050 off the head, stock block, with flat tops .006 above the deck. That's the standard 9.5 piston for the '85 Fast Burn engine. My friend has a Mopar cowl to add to your stock hood if you want to buy it. It's too tall to get past our stock rules, plus it's open at the back and that wont pass either. We wanted a stock 2.2 Charger that was nothing more than a hump that bolted to the hood so we could get a taller filter on ours. Instead of going taller we went longer and wider and got what we needed with a stock hood. Let me know if you want it. |

Did you also know that the stock Shelby cam sprocket is set at 106* and all the other turbo and non turbo cam sprocktes are set at 110* centerline? You can also get cam keys and adjustable aluminum cam sprockets to adjust it with. Did you also know that for every .010 you mill the heads it retards the cam. If you did some major head milling you will need to adjust the cam center line just to get it back to stock.
