MOTORHEAD440,

Check out this link to answer your question about the Pro PArts headers. Looks good from what I see here.

Default mini starters

Cruze on over to moparts.com and look in the tech archives, they have some good info on what needs to be done to make them work. Good Luck

Anybody had to take back 2 of these quick trip parts house products? I was warned by a guy that worked at Advance that the lifetime warranty was only good on the first one. After that they stuck it in your shorts for ya.

The ministarter is not captured by the Hedman headers on my Duster 340. In fact I have great clearance all the way around it. I got mine from Mancini for $104.95 last year. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have to even drop some of the steering linkage to change it unlike when I pulled the dead fullsize starter off. One of the best purchases to make unless you want originality or love changing fullsize starters!

Thumbs up

I got mine of ebay for $74.00, no core charge.
Installed it last weekend. Has some clearance problems with my exhaust pipe clearing the side of the starter. I'm running a 318-4speed with early 340 exhaust manifolds, and pipes from accurate ltd.
Has to cut the pipe just below the flange and bend it towards the outside of the car a little and reweld it.
But I love the new starter, its the best thing I ever did for my car.
It spins over very fast and the car fires up instantly.
Plus is has that new dodge sound not the old starter sound were all a custom to.

TTI Headers and mini-starter

FYI

I have a 71' Barracuda with a 360 and TTI stepped headers. The original starter fits well but I wanted something a little smaller so I took a recommendation from above and bought a starter for a 98' Ram 5.9, piece of cake to install with the headers on and I didn't need to trim a thing.

I got mine off of a Dakota with V-6. 20 bucks at the boneyard. Before I left the boneyard I checked the brushes and contacts. It starts my 9.7-1 340 just fine.

FYI I have the MOPAR Performance mini starter in my 73 440 charger with CPPA headers with no problems.I did have to remove the lug extention(?) that was on the starter when I got it and I think you would have to at least loosen the header bolts to remove it but I haven't tried.
