Overheating is usually not caused by water jacket problems. Why have you suggested that the problem is in the water jacket? The most common source of overheating is a bad thermostat. Next, slipping fan belt. Bad fan clutch. No shroud. Next is leakage, as in radiator, hoses, gaskets. Then a plugged radiator. Then head gasket(s). Timing might be advanced or retarded.
