Pre 1999 Grand Cherokees had the 5.2 V8 or 4.0 I6. Some 98's had the 5.9. 1999 onwards have the 4.7 V8 or 4.0 I6.

Default No 8 Cylinders in post 1986 Wranglers

The largest motor you can get in the YJ and TJ is the 4.0. If you are interested in doing a V-8 Swap then there are an uncountable amount of ways to do so.

Some Jeep CJs came stock with V8s for a number of years. They sounded real good. They were also "real" Jeeps".

Post do jeeps come w/ V8's??

Jeep CJ's came with AMC V8's for a number of years, 304's and 360's are common. Un-rusty bodies are not, but there are still plenty out there. Keep looking if you want a CJ, it took my cousin a year to find a solid one here on the east coast

Lots of good, rust free CJs here in Orygun - took me about three weeks to find my lastt one(about a month ago). Choose from 6, priced between $3,000 and $7,000 - bought a $4,000 one with 3 or 4 one inch rust bubbles under the paint - took 2 days to fix.
Oregon, Washington and Northern California don't use salt on the roads - therefore, lots of rust free old cars & trucks.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
