Default 91' 2 wheel drive cherokee 4.0 HO

has anyone ever heard of the torque converter going bad and making a grumbling sound on decel after revving to about 3000 rpm in any gear. ive heard its the torque converter, cracked flywheel, floating piston skirt. i know i should just check it out but havent had the time. thanks

Theres and internal clutch on the TC that lock the trans into a 1:1 with the engine for improved mileage at higher speeds. Mine usually unlocks at 30mph and will sometimes shake the truck pretty good, it's normal and should mention it in the owners manual if you got one with the truck as well.

thanks for the help.. i ended up just taking off the cover plate on the trans and finding out that my torque converter/flywheel bolts were loose. just some rattling. tightened and she runs like a champ
