Question Is Danica Patrick looking for a Nascar ride?

Apparently her father has been talking to some teams.

I've heard about it already. Still waiting for your page to load. From what I hear her contract with Rahal - Letterman ends this year and he wont admit it yet, but he's not renewing. Bad mistake if you ask me.

Another IRL team shoud snag her. These guys don't swap over to NASCAR real well. Petty already tried that once and there is an F1 guy comming over too. These guys need there 5000 lbs of down force to make an 1800 lb car handle. THey don't do so well with a 4300 lb car with only 1500 lbs of down force.

I hate to see this, but she should stay in IRL where it's easier.

I don't think Letterman will let her leave. He likes her possibilities in IRL and that translates to viewers everytime he has her on his show. She wouldn't be as popular in NASCAR.

If she wins or is at least competitive, she'll be popular. That is if she can handle the cars like DWC says, or if Letterman would let her go. I wouldn't want to speculate on what Letterman may do, he may follow her to Nascar if he can.

If she dresses down, most will drool all over themselves, but that takes away from her cred. Whe has one thing that Shawna Robinson and, dare I say, Erin Crocker don't even have, and that is a model's bod and face. No way NASTYCAR would not help her do well. :-) PCRMike

By the way, It's Wan Pablo Montoya, (sp) that's comming over to NASCAR from F1. HE was suposed to finish out the year in F1, but the team he drives for got ticked and released him from his contract. Rumor is he may get in some NASCAR races by the end of the season in his new ride. Still have not heard whol he is driving for, other than a couple rumored.

Actually, DW, the team Montoya drives for is Ganassi, and Ganassi is giving him the 42 car. It's his in '07. :-) PCRMike (Get your head out of the ...nevermind, and read NASCAR.com.

I don't think Danica can handle the 1800# car.
I think the Indy thing was a fluke.
If you look at her 12th spot out of 17 normal drivers in IRL, her stats aren't that great.
She is trying to get back in the spot light because she is being overshadowed (and out scored as he is 10th in the championship) by the rookie Marko Andretti.

Not so sure that's for her. I'm not against the women racing tho.(unlike Richard Petty) I wish Erin Crocker would start getting up there, top tens for now, she has done ok it seems in Arca. Was it not Jaun Pablo Montoya who drove Gordos car in that thing at Indy (trade off) back in 03? I hope, and think he will do good,

Oh, I don't know about that! Tony Stewart seems to have done OK and John Andretti and Robby Gordon have won several races in Nextel Cup!

Plus Mario Andretti and AJ Foyt had no problem making the transition either.
