Default neon dash problems

Hoping to help a friend out . He has intermitant speedometer and gauge issues with an '96 and '98 neons . They seem to operate when they want . Anybody having this issue? Pentastar666

The solder joints on the back of the circuit board were troublesome. Take the board out and reheat the solder connections until they melt, adding more solder as needed.

Default same dash problems

i have the same dash problems the gauges work when they want and the low fuel light is randome o and fuel gause doesnt work at all pegged at full but i have done the sodder points and it didnt help at all any outher ideas?

i double checked evevything like 6 time so im picking up anouther cluster tomarrow just have to figure out how to adjust the milage on it

You dont have to buy the whole cluster, they sell the printed circuit board seperatly.

I have an issue with my gas gauge its on E do you think the solder points will fix this or do I need to drop the tank???

If the cluster you are replacing is from the cheapo model Neon you can use the Highline cluster that has a tachometer & better gauges it's a "plug in" swap.

I had a gas guage that was going haywire for a while, then the fuel pump went out and I put another one in out of another 96, fuel guage works fine now. I too have had to resolder the back of the guages to fix the speedo issue.
