Illegal immigration: ever heard this one?
I thought I heard all the rights the illegals give for coming here, but this is a new one.I heard this explained to me by a Mexican today during lunch.
He said that since the Mexican gov't. is so corrupt and run by the drug cartels, and the U.S. is unwilling to go in to Mexico (Iraq style) to clean it up, that a lot of mexicans feel it is their right to come here. They actually believe that the U.S. supports the widespread corruption of the Mexican gov't. and that we are responsible for the support of the Mexican people. The vein in my forehead nearly exploded.Anybody else heard that one? |

Just another excuse Mexican's use for breaking our laws. If they cared about their corrupt government, they would do something about it, instead of expecting us to do it for them.

Sounds to me as though the "Blame America First" crowd has a Mexican branch.

Excuse me while I tape the top of my head down since it just popped off. I was beginning to form the opinion that since Mexico has no real law and order, it explains why they act like they do when they come here. I hadn't heard this particular justification.
What did you say to this guy? |

Sure Mexico has real law and borders. It just that the laws and borders do not apply to the legal citizens of Mexico. Now you try to cross over illegally or commit a crime over there and watch what happens...

Even more reason to put up a fence with signs every 10 feet warning illegal immigrants that unlawful crossing of the boarder is illegal and violators will be shot, survivors will be shot again.

The first thing I said can't be repeated here.
I did try to stay calm and respect his viewpoints, but it's apparent that reasoning like this is getting perpetuated in their culture.I'm probably reaching a bit,but I think they're trying to cultivate their own arguements for some sort of Political assylum. |

Sounds reasonable. With the possibility of a democrat president and congress, the advent of opening the door even wider is almost a shoe in. It's gonna take a lot of work by the public to convince our elected officials in DC that the population doesn't want an open door policy when it comes to intergration. |
