Apart from the Ford GT, the current Mustang is the other Ford I wouldn't mind owning. 'Course, my lotto ticket has to be the big one before any new cars wind up at my house.

I really like the mustangs they are bad assed [i love the challenger]but for the price the 5.0 GT beats the Challenger R/T in price and weight. We own a 2011 V6 6 speed mustang and the power it has is super close to a 2010 gt.

I'm most impressed by the 600 ft/lbs of torque the engine is capable of. It's only a matter of time before the Camaro is pushed into the same power realm. I'm not that sure about the Challenger, though. While the potential is certainly there, sadly I'm not sure that Fiat will allow the home boys to develop the Challenger to that extent. Also, it's weight ( in street trim) could prove to he a hindrance to performance even at similar power levels.

But there's another rumour out there about a smaller mainly lighter pony car from Chrysler (auto-blog a couple days ago). Dreaming on, how about a 3400 lb "'Cuda" with a blown 392? That would put F/C back in the game for sure.

Powerwise it sounds, great provided it has the looks to draw in buyers.

Actually, my only non-Mopar car at the moment is a '06 Mustang GT. I don't particularly like the ass-end of the '10 and later Mustangs but could easily change my mind if that GT500 was within my budget...it isn't.

Dodge engineering did a great job with the challenger as did ford with the mustang [i'm getting used to the rear bumper design] if they had done that [given the design some thought] with the t bird it may have survived. The guys at gm must have fell down and hit their heads engine wise it's good, looks wise it's ugly in my opinion [looks nothing like it's namesake] I agree with frankie i hope they don't ruin the names we hold as classics.

I don't know. Remember the Plymouth Prowler that lived on for a time as the Chrysler Prowler, after Plymouth was dissolved? It may happen.

There has been some chatter around about a new Cuda, too. See here.... http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2010/11...nsidering.html and here... http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/05/r...racuda-w-poll/ I realize that was a couple of years ago, but, in spite of no "Plymouth", the "Cuda" name was considered. I'd like to see it e a less "appointed version of the Challenger. Make many of the "Standard bits" of the Challenger go away, and drop a few hundred lbs. |
