Ram1500,

I used to drive tractor trailer and often fantasize about climbing back up in the cab of a deeeluxe conventional cab with about a 500hp to 600hp cat/cummins, 4.11 gears, full-screw tractor (make it a Marmon, or a Peterbuilt) that would PUULLL and PUULLL!

However, I spent the last 13 years working as a veterans' advocate -- sort of a specialized lawyer focusing on VA, military and Social Security issues, for veterans, active-duty personnel and retirees, and their dependents and survivors.

Retired now, though. Just hanging with my son when I'm able to, fishing, hunting, golf, trucks, atvs and snowmobiles. Oh yes, almost forgot, fiddling around on my PC.

Cool

I retired at age 51! I worked for the welfare department as an employment specialist for 28 years but welfare reform worked too well and they were closing my county's welfare department due to full employment and they offered me a very handsome buy-out package to take early retirement.
I continue to be a volunteer programmer at WYSO-FM public radio & have had my own jazz show for 25 years. A couple of weeks ago I played one of my own compositions on a new age show and people literally begged me to sell them a copy so now I'm a professional musician. And now have a new source of income to buy more go-fast goodies for my Ram!
I also work as a supervisor and the electronic reserve coordinator in the University of Dayton Library as a hobby. Well, I needed something to do in my spare time since retiring!

I think I've got the best "job" in the world.

I run my own home based hunting/fishing guiding/outfitting service. That gets me on the water or in the woods and fields about five days a week. During my down time, I train pointing breed dogs for upland game bird hunting.

I've turned my passions into a life long career.

I am a mechanical engineer working for an architectural and engineering firm in Troy, MI. Been doing that for about 3 years now since graduation from college. Regrets, none, other than I should have been an automotive mechanical engineer where I would have made around twice as much as I do now. That way I get more go fast goodies for my SS/T.

I might have one of the more interesting jobs out of us.

I make video games for a living. In specific, I do Computer Animation at a company called Bioware. We have done such games as Baldur's Gate both 1 and 2, MDK2, NeverWinter Nights, and now a Star Wars Role Playing game.

If you want more info just let me know.

I guess there has to be one unemployed person in this. Too bad it’s me. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was working as a designer for a company that does custom automation. I designed end of arm tooling for robots. Sounds neat, huh. That was until my company was bought out and moved 80 miles from my home. Now I am just Mr. Mom. I am getting to spend some extra time with my 9-year-old son. Fortunately for us my wife has the really good job, and keeps me in the life style that I have become accustom to. I also have to share that I just brought home my 71 Challenger R/T. It’s been in storage at my mom and dads for 20 years now. Man…am I getting o

Boy now talk about humbling experiences. I work for a rock company running a drag line yarder, have only been there for about 3 weeks. Before that I was a share holder in a co-op plywood mill.

Up untill a week & 1/2 I did mech. design, purchasing, production, and some accounting for a small company that made coal mining equipment for 3 years, 3 weeks.

Left for a better paying job with the compition doing design work on mining and industrial equipment.

Giving my notice tomorrow, to take a better paying job designing molds to forge Harley, Dana, GM, CAT, NASCAR engine parts along with Eaton trannies, Ridgid & Craftsman tools. There is many other products I will be working on too.

Not bad, didn't get a raise for 2 years, get 2 in two weeks. Well at least I'm doubling my salary.
