Default Need help with a 96 Park Ave?

My GF has a 96 Park Ave and we can't get the hood open. The release lever feels like it pulls the cable and it has spring tension on it to return, but the hood will not open. I have tried pushing down on the hood while pulling the release, but this doesn't work either.

Her dad's mech says they have to remove the bumper to get to the latch. Anyone got any ideas how to get it open?

I know this board is for Dodge guys, but there are a lot of very knowledgable mechanics here and I wanted their opinions. Thanks.

John

Laugh

Why would you want to pop the hood on it anyway? Take it to Jiffy Lube, blame them for the problem and they'll pay the repair bill. CxCx

Can you get at the grill retetion screws from the outside of the car? If you can, you might be able to get to the latch that way. I won't say it'll work for sure, but it's possible.
