Default 360 motor

Searles salvage in Northampton, MA has a 360 in an 81 Dodge motor home. 67K. Don't know what he wants for it. I took the manifold and TQ off it. Looking in valley, engine looks very clean, but is in motor home, which tends to beat on the motors. But mopars are bulletproof. so may be OK. I'm guessing something in the 230 horse range.

Thumbs up wanted 360 motor

good question. I would buy it. considered it for my 5th av, but just don't want to do that much work right now. and I know that if I had this motor, I would spend money on it to upgrade the pistons and rework the heads. my 5th ave has been a low power job for too long. this 360 has 67K. I pulled off intake manifold to put on my 318, changing from 2bbl to 4bbl and putting in cam. with valve covers and manifold off, motor is really clean. so oil was changed regularly. no evidence at all of overheating or long term running hot under heavy load. I've heard a lot over the years about RV motors having short lives, but that was all chevys. this 360 looks like it had a pretty easy life. oil is clean, no burn smell. color is good. also no external signs of overheating or coolant leakage. radiator was full. I drained the coolant and it looked good.
yeah, I would buy it.

Hello, I've been busier than a cat covering s--t for the past few months on my 71 Challenger and just got on here tonite for the first time in months !! I have( 2 ) 360's. One is a souped up ( mopar purple cam per the guys word that I bought it from ) job with a 4 bbl 980 Holley, and the other is a stock 78 2bbl out of a Ram Charger. I bought them with the idea I would use one and keep the other for a spare but found a great deal on a 440 Magnum. I have NOT personally heard either one run. I'm looking to get $750 each or $1200 for the pair - AS-IS. I'm in Plantsville, Ct. 860-621-1050

Lenny - I have a brand new 360 still in the crate that you might be interested in. I am looking for a 6.1 Hemi for my 72 Challenger now that it is getting closer to completion. Let me know.
