Default Small Block Blower Intake

Got this pic from a gent in Australia. He casts blower intakes for Mopar Small Blocks. The place is called Max Wedge Performance. Also makes one for W2 heads some others. For more info:

Yep, I saw the DLI website. I didn't see an intake for the 6-71 though. The Aussies cast this for the 6-71.

Any idea on pricing? I've been looking for a one-piece manifold like that for years. Never did like the idea of the $1000 hi-rise welded two-piece manifold. Thanks for posting!

His email address is on the first post. Drop him a line. He's a good guy. Take into consideration that his prices are in Australian Dollars and you'll have to convert.

Do I smell a possible "group" buy?.... The individual shipping costs would be attrocious, but pack a few of these on a skid, and drop 'em on a boat...

I wonder what kind of towing power I could get with a 4" stroke 318 with a 8-71?

That motor would whistle as loud as a cold Alaskan winter wind.

I bet the MPG would drop on me..........

The only thing with using a 671 instead of a 871.......don't you lose power spinning the smaller blower faster to get the same manifold pressure? Heat too......just wondering.

I emailed him, waiting for a response. I've been holding out for a manifold like this. I don't see a pop-off or a thermostat housing, guessing it's like a SBC blower manifold with the remote thermostat setup. Drooooooool.

I take it back- looks like the thermostat housing faces forward. Can't quite tell from the pic. Got any more?

I had some more photo's but they got lost a little while back. This gent has been doing this for some time. He also casts a small block blower intake for the 142 cid blower. This isn't the intake, but you get the idea...

I think they're used down there primarily for marine use. Jet Boats are bid down under....

The thermostat location appears to be different than the Weiand. Which itself seems to be kinda tight. Comments?

Got this message from Bill:

"Greg
Supercharged Chrysler small block 671 144-177 manifold AUD $1150 + freight
regards

Bill"

If you convert that to US dollars, it still ain't cheap.

Shipping is 180 australian, so the total comes to about $1030 US money. That's almost the same price as the two piece (Offy)hi-rise manifolds from Dyers/BDS/Hampton. I'm getting one. Thanks, Greg!!

Was that price for the 318, 360, magnum, or W2 intake port manifold?

That's for the 318-360 manifold, I guess the w2 and others are more. Got more details on the manifold: has heater provisons, also has a backfire valve and thermostat housing built in. The manifold is 3.7" tall!
Bill called yesterday, guy who makes these things, and he is sending me pics of his stuff. I'll scan and post the pics if anyone is interested. Real cool guy.

Yep, Bill is a keeper all right. I bought a manifold from him for another project some years ago and it was excellent quality. Of course, I just took a big chance and mailed him cash. It went through OK.

Haven't got a response about the paypal yet, not holding my breath. I'd buy it right NOW if he did. I waited 5 months for a blower before, $1500 down payment that visa had to refund me. Have to wait till I gotta job that pays more than $9/hr.

Default it's here

So I ended up paying with a check, but it worked out and here it is. It looks like the port alignment is worlds better than the Weiand Stealth it's replacing. Surprisingly lightweight piece too.

Yeah, I'm pretty surprised how well it is cast. Even has that reinforcing "X" on the bottom of the plenum. The texture isn't like other alloy manifolds I've had, it's somewhat smoother and won't file your knuckles off. I still can't believe a one-man-show pulled this thing off! Should I polish it... can I resist???
