Default I want to put a 440 in a 71 Demon

Im new to the site, but a die hard Mopar man!
I have just puchased a 440 with 413 heads ,in great shape, ran on natural gas , and I want to stuff this in a 71 demon.I cant find anyone who has done this ,and cant find where to get a k member for big block and a body.
If anyone has done this and can give a guy some help,I would sure be thankfull. This should be a great car when she is done. also any ideas about what else should be done to the car would also help.
thanks for the help in advance.

Hi Bob, welcome to the board.
This link will get you started:

Plus, there's a lot of guys on here who have personally done the swap.

Good luck

Default Schumacher

That web site also has the headers you will need. Top quality stuff and great to work with. OH, they also have the firewall seal/gasket set you will need.

BB's were options from the factory from '67 thru '71 or '72 in Darts, even the Hemi. The BB Darts with Hemi's are a terror on the strip, like high 8's @ 150+. The V-8 K frame will work w/SB or BB. It's snug but doable and very rewarding.

Yes, BB's were available in the Dart for those years, but NOT in the Demon or Duster.

The a-body SB k-frame is different than the BB k-frame (I have one of each on the shelf in the garage). They are not interchangeable without special motor mounts.

No need to swap the SB k-frame though, Schumacher can supply you with those necessary motor mounts for the swap using your existing SB k-frame.

If you do this swap, you SHOULD install sub-frame connectors.

My boo boo Eddie. I thought the Sports were the only 108" (Dusters W/Dodge badges) Dodges.
