850 cfm
Building a 500 ci b block about 575 HP trick flow heads hyd roller 11.2-1 comp 236 @50 550 lift 370 gears about 3600 lbs car need info on getting the right carb looking at holley 850 comp 850 demons ect. any body have any advice

I think with an 850, you'll be "under-carbed" but ultimately it depends on what your goals and budget are for the car. I'm currently in the middle of a Trick Flow head swap myself but just before I did I went racing one last time with my old combo but I used a Holley 950 hp carb versus my Holley 850 double pumper. For my combo, that carb switch was good for 2/10ths and 2 mph in the 1/4 mile. My combo definitely enjoyed that bigger carb and it's pretty "mild".
Since you have 500 ci, it will definitely love a bigger carb. If you don't have a carb yet, I'd go with a 950. It will definitely give you more power. If you already have an 850, start with that one and upgrade later down the line. Good luck! |

thanks 68 charger I have heard that from half the carb specialist I have called and 850 from the others but I think that is for streetabilaty and I currantly have 370 gears but I no how hard it is to shave two tens off of a all ready tuned car good job there Quick flow told me to run the 850 until I go back to the 456 gear
so thanks for the sound advise |
