Default intake manifold exhaust crossover

It has been a long time since I posted on here. Sad that this forum is seldom used anymore. A question if anyone should reply is this:
I'm going to use a 7176 Edelbrock Performer RPM intake on a 340 engine. Can I use the fel pro intake gaskets #1213 to block the exhaust crossover. These gaskets will block the crossover ports but will I need to use thin metal plates with those 1213 gaskets? I have used just these gaskets before but now I have read that these gaskets will burn through eventually without using the thin metal plates with the gaskets.
