Default flowmaster delta flow

I am ready to install an exhaust system on my 70 Road Runner, 383, 4 spd. My car is mostly a cruiser/street car and I don't race it. It has come down to a decision between the 40 series or 50 series delta flow mufflers. Has anyone had any experience with them or could offer an opinion on which way to go? Thanks in advance.

40 sounds the loudest and most aggresive and 50 is quieter with less droning and 30 sounds quieter than the 50 but a better sound when you open it up.

Thumbs up

From what darren509 has just posted I myself would either go 50 or 30. There's nothing worse than cruising at 65mph and droning. The 30 sounds good because your 383 in stock form is pretty loud so even tho the 30 is the quietest system from the three you are still going to be louder than you are now and if it sounds mad when it's doing the mean streak then thats where I want mine to be rather than sitting at the lights. My guess is from 509's post is that the 50 is best of both worlds agressive sounding through all gears/revs and still quiet enough at highway speeds. Concluison I would go 50 series

I just bought Flowmaster 40 series Delta Force (Delta flow?) mufflers.

The 40 series are loud, but the Delta Force version is supposed to take the "edge" off the sound.
I'm running 3 1/2" through an "X" pipe, back into two 3 1/2" Flowmasters. I'm sure the car won't be QUIET, but I think it'll be quieter than most would think.
I'll hopefully have it running in the spring and I'll find out myself!

LOL!

Go with flow masters for max hp and dont worry about the sound it makes. It's power you want, right?
