Arrow Throttle Linkage...aftermarket intake

Hello all,

I just finished my bigblock, did the breakin of the cam and valvetrain.

It started right up, and sounded healthy...

Now to the problem...
I installed an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold, and if your at all familiar with aftermarket performance intakes you know they sit quite abit taller than factory manifolds.
I mounted my factory throttle bracket to the manifold, (left rear bolt hole) but the bracket positions the cable horizontal, so it must travel at about a 45 degree angle as it comes out of the bracket to reach up to the carb. The throttle tends to hang UP at inopportune times, to say the least.

Does anyone have a remedy for this problem, other than bending and modifying the braket?
The bracket is off my stock 1968 383 4spd car, if it matters.

Thanks in advance...

Jeff C.

Maniac. There is a bracket available that mounts to the carb base and will put everything back in line. Summit and jegs both sell them. Bouchillon Performance also makes one that will work with a tranny kick-down cable system too. Good luck.

Go check out the throttle bracket kit at www.ARengineering.com and see what you think. It was designed for exactly what you are talking about.

Cool

Thanks for the quick response guy's.

Because I'm cheap, and handy with fabrication.
I decided to make my own bracket. So far, so good.

Thanks again,
Jeff C.
