8 3/4 rear end lengths
Hoping someone can save me some legwork. I need to know what the different lengths the 8 3/4 rearends came in and what cars they were in. I have a 32 Dodge coupe that I am putting together as a street rod and looking for donor cars to get rearends from. Original rearend is 59" hub to hub. If I could get close to that I can save some time and $$. Just having some idea of where to start would be a great help. Thanks

The old taper axle rears of '62 and '63 were 58 1/2" drum-to-drum, the '64-'67 were 59 1/2". All others, except the A body, were over 60".

Thanks John, are any of the internals different, strength wise? I can use any one of them depending on availability, even if it means narrowing the frame.

Go to website www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Shop/3978/ and click on the REAR AXLE tab on the left-hand side of the page. I think you will find the information useful.
