Unhappy Cruise Control

A couple of days after building a carkit into me '90 cherokee suddenly the cruise control didn't function anymore, looking at the manuel of the carkit it said by wrong installation it could cause problems to ABS system and Cruise Control . Installation was correct, but to make sure I got the carkit out again, but it still didn't function.
The Hayes manuell I have doesn't say any specificly about cruise control and where to lookfore by mal function.
Now before running to my locale Jeep dealer which would costs me an arm and a leg (thats one of the reasons so few people in holland drive US cars).
Has anyone expirienced the same problem.

Check all your fuses with a test light and make sure the brake switch is functioning and or hooked up still?
Has the brake interlock recall #733 been done already?

Make sure the brake switch located on the brake pedal mechanism above where you put your foot was not disturbed when installing your kit

There is a brake pedal interlock recall on these vehicles(has nothing to do with your problem) prevents shifting out of park until the brakes are applied.
