Engine installation after paint..
Well tomorrow I get to go to the body shop to start tearing down my Newport. First thing coming out is the engine and tranny. Pulling it is easy but I was thinking a couple months down the road, and what about reinstalling it after the paint. The total for everything is about $4500 (There goes what little social life I had) I pulled a 340 for my friend out of his wife's wrecked Demon. (He had a wrecked back) from the bottom. K-member front suspension and all. Putting it in that way would be easy, however I am not sure on a C-body. I know the entinre front subframe comes out, but do the inner fender wells, unbolt like a 68 C-body or a 77 B-body? If so would it be easier to bolt up the engine tranny, headers steering box, front suspension, on the sub frame and drop the car down over it? If I go this route then the inner fender wells would have to be a bolt in type. If so my plan will work. What do any of you think. Good plan?
