Default HP limits

What are roughly the limits of stock parts in regards to HP? What stock parts could I use with 600HP. Stock forged crank and block only?

Based on all the articles I have seen 550 seems to be the figure thrown around as a limit. The mains start to come apart above that.
I would imagine if you got your HP with nitrous, a turbo, or a blower you could do better since you wouldn't have to spin it so fast.

My buddy built a 440 engine and dyno'd it at Ron Parr's in Langley.
He hit 640HP.
The car was driven regularly, it went 9.80's at Mission. He won the small tire street car shootout with it.
No big expensive parts, steel crank, stock block.
