Default Has anyone ever heard of....

Has anyone ever heard of a bearing setup that replaces the front upper control arm bushings? I heard that there were some SS guys running a setup like this to help get the front end to rise quicker during launch.

There sure is. We use them on our oval track car to get better handling since they dont deflect in the corners or under hard braking. They are solid aluminum with a bushing and grease fitting and then there are some called mono balls that are like an over sized heim joint. Check out speedway motors and stock car products. They have them both.

You can but it would transfer a lot of road noise and vibration which does not hurt our stock cars. I would think that wear would be a problem if it was a daily driver, but just a weekend bruiser would be fine. I like the mono balls 'cause they have less friction and move freely, but no grease fitting. The others are made just like the solid rear spring front eye bushing and have a grease fitting. For a street car I would go this route.

If you wanted to you could get these already installed in a tube A arm and cut the factory A arm mount off and add a chebby type stand to mount the new tube arm too. Save you some unsprung weight to improve handling and easier front alignment too. We have to do this for our cars so I just thought I'd throw that in too.
