first I'm trying to find out if the 2002 318 block will take the diamond racing stroker crank in the past the 318 and 340 have shared the same block

Don't know the answer to your question, but I guess Diamond should know it. 318 and 340 never shared the same block.

on this I am sure the bore is different but yes the 318 and 340 share the same block if you check most of the time when ordering they are listed together the 340 was based off the 318 block the stroke is the same the differences come in little things like the oil pump piston size heads and intakes also the 340 come with a windage tray but they did share the same block but if you don't beleive me check thruough jc whitney or paw the difference is in the inards thanx for your reply I did some checking and found the differences on another site last night and yes the early 70's casting and the 2001 casting are the same and will take the crank but I appreciate the reply
