440 oil pressure
My newly-rebuilt 440 isn't showing good oil pressure. I haven't been able to check with a mechanical guage yet, but the electric shows only about 20 lbs. Is there some passage plug that can get left out and keep pressure from building? I put in a new sending unit, and no difference. Grounding the guage wire gets the guage to peg on the high side, and system voltage is about 12.56.
Thanks Eric |

It's a Melling high volume, not blueprinted or anything. The mains and rods are all at .0025", with one rod bearing at .0015".
It has a Milodon 8 quart pan and pickup. Update: Thread over. A mechanical guage shows 55lbs, right where it should be until I get a high-pressure spring. Thanks tho. Eric |

High volume pumps already have the high pressure spring.
