73 challenger 318 hop up
A buddy of mine just picked up a 73 challenger with a 318/727 combo. It has the four barrel intake/carb. He wants to get the most he can from this set up but keep it reliable. He also does not want to tear the engine down . I told him to go with this set up. Tell me if I am on track.
Performer intake 600 Holley/edelbrok 268/454 Comp cam Hooker headers 2.25 dual exhaust with x pipe 2 chamber delta flows 2400-2600 stall 3.23 to 3.55 gears |

Sounds fine and should be a good reliable setup. May even get a set of junkyard 360 heads and play with them for mild flow. Do a weekend swap some time....

6D9; 2 more cents here.
Use a split duration cam. This will bennifit the stock heads on top. Use the extreme series cam over the comp series for the street. Theres more lift too. Talk to Demonsizzler for a T-Q built for the combo. The T-Q will do better than the Holley or Edel. in terms of performance and for sure, mileage. 3.55's are good. 26 inch tire. |
